Boston, MA (Vocus) January 31, 2011 - CollegeWeekLive, provider of the world's largest college fairs and admissions events, today announced CollegeWeekLive TRANSFER DAY, a free online college fair tailored specifically to the needs of transfer students. The event, scheduled for Thursday, February 3rd from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Eastern, is designed to help community college students and current four-year college students transfer to another four-year institution to complete their bachelor's degree.
CollegeWeekLive TRANSFER DAY will feature special live video presentations to help prospective transfer students in the matriculation process. Speakers include Walter Bumphus, the President and CEO of the American Association of Community Colleges, who will speak on “The Community College Experience.” In addition, admissions representatives from University of North Texas, Arizona State University and Florida International University will participate in a virtual round table discussion on why students should transfer schools. CollegeWeekLive TRANSFER DAY will also focus on the financial aid needs of transfer students. With the cost of college rising, many students choose to attend two-year community colleges before completing their degree with a four-year college or university. The U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid office will be participating in the event to address the unique challenges that transfer students face when seeking financial aid. College and university representatives will also have information on financial aid opportunities for transfer students available in their virtual booths, with live chat available to answer questions.
